Kaufman's Bagel & Delicatessen at 4905 Dempster Street, Skokie, Illinois.

Its worth driving out of your way to visit Kaufman's Deli! They have many delicious meats and cheeses. We love their lean corned beef and lean pastrami. As soon as you enter, please take a number from the dispenser next to the door. They will call out the numbers as people are served. Average wait might be 15 to 20 minutes, gives you time to look at all the bakery goodies! Usually very busy, but well worth the wait. They have many 'standard' sandwiches, which you can customize with your choice of bread, condiments and extras.
Only disappointment was they don't have gift cards which makes it hard to give a gift of Kaufman's to a friend.
We try to visit whenever we get to Chicago.
